Write a vacation rental advertisement that sells your vacation home to your target renter. Most vacation rental Listing sites provide space for a headline, a property description, and location information. When you rent by owner, your ads on the Listing websites can make or break your business. Everyone there is trying to do the same thing so you need to stand out.
For example: "Luxury Cabin with Sauna, HDTV, Homecoming Weekend Open"
A good property description paints a picture of your home and the amenities (e.g. pool, fireplace, big-screen TV) that you offer. Be quick and get to the point. Highlight one or two features or qualities about your home that you know most vacationers look for. Be clear about the size and type (house, condo, cabin, cottage, time share, etc.) of your home. Use bullets, stars, and numbers to help organize your highlighted points and aim where the eye is looking. If you're unsure about what your properties' top selling points are, ask friends, family, or past renters for advice about what they look for in a vacation home rental.
The location information is important, be specific and name names. The description of your location is of great importance to your ad and should not be overlooked. Include local landmarks, as well as local art and music festivals, special lakes or sporting events that potential renters might enjoy during their stay at your vacation rental property. Again, be specific. Renters often look for a property that is close to specific geographic features (beach, lake, mountains) or attractions (Disney Land, National Park, Dolly wood, Smithsonian Institute). Also list the shopping centers, golf courses, parks, and popular restaurants by name.
Most vacationers start looking for a vacation rental with four criteria in mind: Location to attractions, rental rates, property size, and their travel dates. The key to writing a great ad is to make sure that you're giving renters all of the information they need to make an informed decision. Give them a reason to make the call for your vacation rental property.
